High-Scoring Thrillers and Statement Wins: A Big Night of NBA Hoops
It was a massive slate of NBA action, with attack-minded teams lighting up the scoreboard and a few stars absolutely going off. From Jamal Murray’s monster night in Denver’s shootout with Indiana, to Anthony Davis and Cooper Flagg powering Dallas past Miami, and a dominant Houston performance against Sacramento, punters had no shortage of storylines or markets to track.
Below is a game-by-game review of every matchup listed, breaking down final scores, momentum swings by quarter and the standout individual performances based purely on the stats in the score records.
Denver Nuggets vs Indiana Pacers
Denver edged Indiana in a high-octane clash, winning 135–120. The Nuggets set the tone early, dropping 33 points in the first quarter to the Pacers’ 28, then blew the game open before half-time with a dominant second term they won 39–20. By the main break, Denver led 72–48, and that cushion proved too much for Indiana to claw back despite a late surge.
The Pacers did respond in the second half, actually outscoring Denver 72–63 across the final two quarters, fuelled by a massive 41-point fourth quarter. But the hole from that second period was simply too deep.
Individually, this one was all about Jamal Murray. He piled up:
- 52 points
- 6 rebounds
- 4 assists
- 10 made threes
- 1 steal and 0 blocks (1 total stocks)
- 58 PR (points + rebounds) and 62 PRA
That’s a truly elite all-round line and a dream result for anyone who backed his points, threes or combo markets.
Nikola Jokić also delivered a typically stacked stat line:
- 24 points
- 8 rebounds
- 13 assists
- 1 steal and 1 block
- 45 PRA, 32 PR, 37 PA
- 4 turnovers, 5 combined TO + steals + blocks
Around them, Peyton Watson (11 points, 7 boards, 0 assists, 3 blocks, 1 steal) and Bruce Brown (14 points, 4 rebounds, 0 assists, 1 three, 1 block, 0 steals) chipped in nicely, while Cameron Johnson added 9 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 threes.
For Indiana, the scoring was more balanced. Pascal Siakam led the way with:
- 23 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists
- 3 made threes
- 30 PRA, 26 PR, 27 PA
Bennedict Mathurin (15 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists; 22 PR) and Andrew Nembhard (16 points, 3 rebounds, 7 assists; 26 PRA) also produced strong lines. Off the bench, T.J. McConnell filled the stat sheet with 14 points, 1 rebound, 6 assists, 3 steals and 1 block for 21 PRA.
Defensively, Peyton Watson stood out with 4 steals and 3 blocks (7 stocks, 4 total with turnovers included), while McConnell matched him on the other side with 3 steals and a block.
Overall, this was a classic case of an early offensive blitz deciding the result. Denver’s first-half output, backed by Murray’s explosion and Jokić’s playmaking, was just too much for Indiana’s late rally to overturn.
Portland Trail Blazers vs Cleveland Cavaliers
Cleveland controlled this one from start to finish, beating Portland 122–110. The Cavs led every quarter: 36–33 in the first, 32–25 in the second and 31–27 in the third, before both sides slowed slightly in a 23–25 final term in favour of the Blazers. At half-time, it was 68–58 to Cleveland, and they never really looked threatened.
Donovan Mitchell was at the heart of it with:
- 33 points
- 5 rebounds, 5 assists
- 3 threes, 1 steal
- 38 PA, 38 PR, 43 PRA
He did turn it over 4 times but still finished with a huge fantasy and props line.
Evan Mobley put together one of the most complete efforts of the day:
- 23 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists
- 5 blocks, 2 steals
- 3 made threes
- 33 PR, 28 PA, 38 PRA
- 7 total stocks and 9 including turnovers
That’s an enormous defensive showing, with 7 combined steals + blocks.
Supporting acts came from Thomas Bryant (14 points, 6 rebounds, 0 assists, 3 threes, 2 blocks; 20 PR/PRA) and NaeQwan Tomlin (7 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist; 11 PR), while Jaylon Tyson added 14 points and 7 boards for 21 PR.
For Portland, the standout was Deni Avdija, who did a bit of everything:
- 27 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists
- 1 three, 1 steal
- 35 PR, 34 PA, 42 PRA
Caleb Love chipped in with 20 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist and 4 threes (25 PR, 21 PA, 26 PRA), and Jerami Grant added 16 points, 5 boards, 6 assists and 3 threes for 27 PRA.
On the glass, Donovan Clingan was a force with 13 rebounds and 5 points, good for 18 PR and 20 PRA. Shaedon Sharpe put up 20 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists (29 PR, 25 PA, 34 PRA), another strong all-round line.
With Cleveland consistently edging each period and leaning on Mitchell and Mobley’s star turns, this one was a comfortable, professional road win.
San Antonio Spurs vs Orlando Magic
Orlando snuck past San Antonio in a tight contest, winning 114–112. The Spurs took the first quarter 31–29 and led 58–49 at half-time, but the Magic clawed back with a 28–30 third term that kept things close heading into the last. Orlando then edged the final quarter 28–33 to complete a narrow two-point victory.
For Orlando, Franz Wagner led from the front:
- 25 points, 4 rebounds, 6 assists
- 1 three, 2 steals, 1 block
- 29 PR, 31 PA, 35 PRA
Jalen Suggs was just as influential:
- 24 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists
- 3 threes, 3 steals
- 28 PR, 28 PA, 32 PRA
Desmond Bane contributed 14 points, 3 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 threes (17 PR, 20 PA, 23 PRA), while Anthony Black filled the box score with 7 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists for 14 PR and 19 PRA.
Up front, Wendell Carter Jr. added 5 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists and a steal plus block combo, while Goga Bitadze offered 8 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal, 1 block (15 PRA).
For San Antonio, it was a well-spread effort. De'Aaron Fox was the standout, putting up:
- 31 points
- 5 rebounds, 5 assists
- 3 threes, 0 steals, 0 blocks
- 36 PR, 36 PA, 41 PRA
- 7 turnovers and 7 total TO + stocks
Dylan Harper gave strong support with 16 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 three and 2 steals (21 PR, 21 PA, 26 PRA), while Devin Vassell chipped in 15 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist and 3 threes (21 PR, 16 PA, 22 PRA).
On the interior, Luke Kornet added 5 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists plus 3 blocks, finishing with 15 rebounds + assists and 16 PRA. Julian Champagnie came up big off the bench with 14 points, 5 boards, 0 assists and 4 threes (19 PR, 14 PA, 19 PRA).
In the end, Orlando got just enough stops late and leaned on Wagner and Suggs in crunch time to flip an early deficit into a tight win.
Los Angeles Clippers vs Atlanta Hawks
The Clippers made a serious statement on the road, beating Atlanta 115–92. LA set the pace early with a 27–21 first quarter and pushed their advantage to 55–41 at half-time. A huge 39–32 third quarter extended the margin beyond reach, and they cruised home in a relatively controlled final term.
Offensively, it was a well-rounded team performance with several key contributors:
- James Harden: 27 points, 4 rebounds, 9 assists, 5 threes, 3 steals (31 PR, 36 PA, 40 PRA)
- Kawhi Leonard: 21 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 three, 2 steals (27 PR, 26 PA, 32 PRA)
- Ivica Zubac: 14 points, 17 rebounds, 5 assists (31 PR, 19 PA, 36 PRA)
- John Collins: 15 points, 9 boards, 1 assist, 1 block, 2 steals (24 PR, 16 PA, 25 PRA)
Harden and Leonard dictated the tempo, while Zubac absolutely dominated the glass with 17 rebounds and 22 RA (rebounds + assists).
For Atlanta, the offence was more limited, but there were still a few bright spots:
- Nickeil Alexander-Walker: 21 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 threes, 1 block, 1 steal (26 PR, 24 PA, 29 PRA)
- Dyson Daniels: 15 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals (18 PR, 17 PA, 20 PRA)
- Zaccharie Risacher: 11 points, 3 boards, 3 assists (14 PR, 14 PA, 17 PRA)
Onyeka Okongwu worked hard on the boards with 9 rebounds and 7 points (16 PR, 12 PA, 21 PRA), while Luke Kennard added 11 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 threes.
Defensively, the Clippers were active: Harden recorded 3 steals, Kawhi added 2 steals, and Zubac, Collins and others protected the rim sufficiently to keep Atlanta under 100. The Clippers’ superior shot creation and size advantage on the glass were the difference.
Charlotte Hornets vs New York Knicks
New York took care of business at home, beating Charlotte 119–104. The Knicks came out firing with a 27–12 opening quarter and led 53–47 at half-time. A powerful 37–28 third term gave them all the breathing space they needed, and the final quarter finished level at 29–29.
The clear star for the Knicks was Karl-Anthony Towns, who delivered a dominant all-round performance:
- 35 points
- 18 rebounds, 5 assists
- 3 threes, 2 steals, 0 blocks
- 53 PR, 40 PA, 58 PRA
That’s one of the biggest lines of the day: massive on the glass and highly efficient in scoring terms.
Josh Hart did what he does best, stuffing the stat sheet:
- 15 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists
- 1 three, 1 steal, 1 block
- 23 PR, 23 PA, 31 PRA
Jalen Brunson controlled the offence with 26 points, 2 rebounds, 5 assists and 1 three (28 PR, 31 PA, 33 PRA), while Mikal Bridges added 16 points, 4 boards, 2 assists, 2 steals and 1 block (20 PR, 18 PA, 22 PRA).
From the bench, Miles McBride provided an excellent spark with 15 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist and 3 threes for 17 PR, 16 PA and 18 PRA.
For Charlotte, everything revolved around LaMelo Ball, who posted a big line in a losing effort:
- 34 points
- 8 rebounds, 9 assists
- 5 threes, 1 steal
- 42 PR, 43 PA, 51 PRA
- 4 turnovers
Tidjane Salaun added 13 points, 4 rebounds, 0 assists and 3 threes (17 PR, 13 PA, 17 PRA), while Ryan Kalkbrenner chipped in 8 points, 9 rebounds, 0 assists and 3 blocks (17 PR/RA, 8 PA, 17 PRA).
Despite LaMelo’s strong showing and solid contributions from Salaun, Kalkbrenner and others, New York’s big three of Towns, Brunson and Hart simply had too much punch, particularly in that decisive first and third quarter.
Sacramento Kings vs Houston Rockets
Houston blew Sacramento off the floor in the second half, winning 121–95. The first half was competitive – the Kings actually led 52–51 at the break after matching Houston 26–28 in the first and 26–23 in the second. But the Rockets exploded out of the sheds, winning the third quarter 36–19 and the fourth 34–24 to outscore Sacramento 70–43 after half-time.
Houston had multiple players with standout stat lines:
- Alperen Şengün: 28 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, 4 steals (38 PR, 31 PA, 41 PRA, 4 steals, 0 blocks)
- Amen Thompson: 20 points, 12 rebounds, 7 assists, 2 steals, 1 block (32 PR, 27 PA, 39 PRA)
- Kevin Durant: 24 points, 3 rebounds, 8 assists, 1 three, 1 block (27 PR, 32 PA, 35 PRA)
- Steven Adams: 11 points, 8 rebounds, 0 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks (19 PR, 11 PA, 19 PRA)
On the wings, Josh Okogie added 3 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals (9 PR, 4 PA, 10 PRA), and Aaron Holiday chipped in 7 points, 2 boards, 1 assist and 1 three (9 PR, 8 PA, 10 PRA).
Defensively, the Rockets were everywhere. Şengün had 4 steals, Amen Thompson added 2 steals and 1 block, and both Adams and Jabari Smith (2 blocks) protected the rim well. Houston’s length and activity clearly rattled Sacramento in the second half.
For the Kings, the scoring load was spread but lacked efficiency. The top contributors included:
- Malik Monk: 25 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists, 5 threes, 2 steals (28 PR, 30 PA, 33 PRA)
- Maxime Raynaud: 25 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 threes, 1 steal, 1 block (31 PR, 28 PA, 34 PRA)
- Russell Westbrook: 12 points, 4 rebounds, 9 assists, 2 threes, 1 steal (16 PR, 21 PA, 25 PRA, but 4 turnovers)
- Precious Achiuwa: 10 points, 4 rebounds, 0 assists, 2 steals (14 PR/PRA)
Keegan Murray contributed 5 points, 11 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 blocks, 1 steal for 16 PR, 6 PA, 17 PRA, while DeMar DeRozan had 12 points, 2 rebounds, 0 assists with a steal (14 PR/PRA).
After a tight first half, Houston’s depth and superior playmaking completely flipped the contest, turning what looked like a grind into a blowout.
Brooklyn Nets vs Chicago Bulls
Brooklyn outgunned Chicago on the road, claiming a 113–103 victory. The Nets set up the win with a 29–24 first quarter and a 25–20 second, taking a 54–44 lead into half-time. Chicago showed some fight with a 31–29 third, but Brooklyn closed it out with a 30–28 final quarter.
The standout performer was clearly Michael Porter Jr., who put on a massive offensive display:
- 33 points
- 10 rebounds, 5 assists
- 5 threes, 2 steals, 1 block
- 43 PR, 38 PA, 48 PRA
That’s elite production across the board and more than enough to anchor Brooklyn’s attack.
Noah Clowney was also huge:
- 20 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists
- 6 made threes
- 27 PR, 22 PA, 29 PRA
Inside, Nic Claxton posted 14 points, 8 rebounds, 9 assists, 2 steals and 3 blocks, finishing with 22 PR, 23 PA, 31 PRA and 6 stocks. That’s an exceptional all-round centre line.
Egor Demin chipped in 10 points, 0 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 threes (10 PR, 14 PA, 14 PRA), while Danny Wolf added 8 points, 4 boards, 3 assists, 2 threes for 12 PR, 11 PA, 15 PRA. Day'Ron Sharpe gave solid bench minutes with 5 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals and 2 blocks (12 PR, 6 PA, 13 PRA).
For Chicago, Josh Giddey put up a monster triple-threat-style line:
- 28 points, 11 rebounds, 11 assists
- 0 made threes
- 39 PR, 39 PA, 50 PRA
That’s a genuine triple-double line and one of the biggest PRA totals on the slate.
Matas Buzelis added 14 points, 5 boards, 3 assists and 1 three (19 PR, 17 PA, 22 PRA), while Nikola Vučević chipped in with 16 points, 11 rebounds (27 PR, 16 PA, 27 PRA). Ayo Dosunmu rounded out the Bulls’ main threats with 16 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 threes (18 PR, 17 PA, 19 PRA).
Defensively, Chicago got active in the passing lanes: Ayo Dosunmu recorded 3 steals and 1 block, and Patrick Williams added 3 steals. But Brooklyn’s superior shooting – led by Porter Jr. and Clowney from deep – ultimately decided the contest.
Detroit Pistons vs Milwaukee Bucks
Milwaukee fought back from an early deficit to edge Detroit 113–109. The Pistons jumped out to a 30–21 lead after one and held a 52–49 advantage at half-time. The Bucks swung the momentum in the second half, outscoring Detroit 29–33 in the third and 35–24 in the fourth to take the win.
Interestingly, Giannis Antetokounmpo had a very quiet game statistically:
- 2 points, 1 rebound, 1 assist
- 0 steals, 0 blocks
- 3 PR, 3 PA, 4 PRA
Instead, Milwaukee’s supporting cast carried the load:

That’s an extremely balanced effort, with four different Bucks finishing between 19 and 26 points and Sims dominating the glass.
Detroit spread the scoring too, with several players in double figures:
- Cade Cunningham: 17 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists, 1 three, 1 steal (24 PR, 24 PA, 31 PRA)
- Tobias Harris: 20 points, 5 rebounds, 0 assists, 5 threes (25 PR/RA, 20 PA, 25 PRA)

Ausar Thompson also posted 10 points, 6 boards, 5 assists, 2 steals (16 PR, 15 PA, 21 PRA), while Jalen Duren added 8 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists (14 PRA).
Ultimately, Milwaukee’s late scoring flurry – especially from the perimeter via AJ Green, Kevin Porter and Bobby Portis – flipped the contest after Detroit’s early dominance.
Miami Heat vs Dallas Mavericks
In the late game, Dallas (listed as the home team in the records) outlasted Miami in a quality contest, winning 118–108. Miami took the first quarter 33–28, but Dallas responded with a big 36–21 second term to lead 64–54 at half-time. Max Christie rounded things out with 10 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 threes (12 PR/PA/PR).

In the end, Dallas’ second-quarter blitz and the combination of Davis inside with hot perimeter shooting from Thompson and Nembhard proved decisive.
